Αυτό θα έπρεπε να ήταν global thread, καθώς αφορά όλα τα γκρουπς που έχω ακούσει, διαβάσει, ή υπάρξει μέλος τους.

DM's Guide (to failure)
5 Simple Rules that will guarantee a fail-campaign, PCs wasting their time and the DM thinking he's done nothing wrong and somehow "things didn't work out" for his campaign.


Rule #1: Thy Players shall not have fun!
Obvious reasons. Right?

Rule #2: Thy PCs shall never be powerful
Powerful PCs lead to players having fun - and that breaks Rule #1.

Rule #3: Never let the Players just do their own thing during character creation. Why?

3a. There are chances they will end up being powerful. What you do then? Make your challenges a bit harder? The DM creates the setting and (see Rule #4) the setting cannot change or adjust to the Players desires.

3b. Now that you are the DM, you MUST act EXACTLY like every other DM before you. You have the power. You are the man. You can check every little detail in the Players' PC, double check, triple check, erase imbalances, delete aspects of the PC that you don't like. But why do that? They can't HARM your story, they can't HARM your setting, they can't HARM your NPCs. You must do that JUST BECAUSE YOU FUCKING CAN. K?


Rule #4: Thy Holiest of Holies Setting shall not adopt to the PCs.
You can't change your masterfully plotted out world just because some stupid fuckers who are like 0.000001% of that world wanna have fun. Pff come on. What about all the NPCs? THEY GOT RIGHTS TOO DOOD!


Rule #5: Thou shall treasure your story like it is your baby.
You have now created a masterpiece. You cannot allow yourself to just forget about it and just go through with whatever the Players want. They are evil. They want to destroy your story, your life, your family, your NPCs, your DMPCs, your plot, your twists and turns and towns and children and merchants and merchandise and the sky and the sea and the gods themselves; they want to destroy you. Be very careful fellow DM. Thy shall not win the campaign. THAT is your task.







P.S. Όντως. Στο επόμενο campaign που θα κάνω DM, θα προετοιμάσω μόνο τον εαυτό στο πως να σπάσει τους παραπάνω κανόνες όσο καλύτερα μπορεί. Ελπίζω να είστε οι players να μου πείτε τι βγήκε.
